Craniosacral

Our body has the ability to heal itself. All it needs is time and resources. Craniosacral therapy helps the body to become aware of these resources and activate them. Craniosacral treatment therefore promotes the body’s self-healing powers. It also relaxes and harmonises the body.

Craniosacral therapy was developed at the start of the 20th century and has its roots in osteopathy. The parts of the body that give the therapy its name, “cranium“ (skull) and “sacrum” (sacral bone), are connected by the spine and the cerebral and spinal meninges. Cerebral and spinal cord fluid (cerebrospinal fluid or liquor) flows through the spine. Everybody has a unique rhythm of liquor flow. This craniosacral rhythm influences the whole body and affects the cells as well as the metabolism and its function. A disturbed craniosacral rhythm can cause a variety of symptoms. Craniosacral treatment releases blockages in the flow of liquor, balances out the craniosacral rhythm and activates the body’s self-healing powers.

Craniosacral therapy is a manual, gentle and non-invasive form of treatment. During the treatment, I sense the craniosacral rhythm particularly by touching the skull and the sacrum and apply gentle impulses to guide it back to its natural rhythm. The treatment is suitable for adults of all ages, for babies, children and adolescents.
